4H Youth Hosted at CKC Events

There were approximately 23 4Hers who participated in Junior Showmanship in the CKC match and there were 2 entries in the Terrier Club match shown by a 4H  participants.

Over 38 students earned an AKC patch in the AKC Patch Program.  Students had to answer questions about dogs, breeds and showing to earn the patch.

Colorado 4H officials stated that this was a success way beyond their expectation with participation more than three times what was expected.

The AKC Patch Program aims to introduce a new generation of young people to purebred dogs and the sport of purebred dogs through a fun, interactive program.  Colorado Kennel Club hosted this event, for the first time in Colorado during the Dog Daze of Denver.

Likewise in Trick Dog, 4H participants earned 2 TD novice, 1 TD Intermediate, 1 TD Advanced.  In total, 33 titles were awarded.  Many others attempted titles and will continue to work with their dogs to accomplish the specifics of the title.
